Cable for Golden Horn Bridge in Vladivostok to Be Put under Construction in November

Cable ordered in France is guaranteed to work over 100 years

VLADIVOSTOK, June 23, vladivostoktimes.com The constructors will start to built cables for the bridge over the Golden Horn Bay in Vladivostok this November.  Cable is guaranteed to work over 100 years. But according to the estimations this bridge will function well even five hundred years, as the Primorsky Territory Administration press service reported to RIA PrimaMedia.

“Today the cable is being constructed in France. There are no such producing companies in Russia” as the Primorsky Territory Department of Road Administration reported.

192 cables – wire which links road with towers – are necessary for construction. The total length of the cable will be 42 kilometers and the length of all inner ropes of all cable will be equal to the distance between Vladivostok and Khabarovsk (1497 kilometers).

We would note that the bridge over the Golden Horn Bay is the unique construction in Russia. It will become the seventh biggest cable bridge in the world. The bridge over the Bosfor Vostochny to Russian Island is also in the list. It’s being constructed in Vladivostok today in the framework of preparation to APEC Summit-2012.

The Governor Sergey DARKIN ordered to develop the proposals for color and light decoration of the bridge over the Golden Horn Bay.

“The bridge will become the biggest transport junction as well as the trademark of Vladivostok” the Governor says. The bridge lit by powerful lights at night will become the city decoration and tourist attraction.
