Health Resorts to Be Built on Russkiy Island in Vladivostok

But it may happen only after the APEC Summit

VLADIVOSTOK, April 21, vladivostoktimes.com The health resorts and recreation centers should be designed on the base of infrastructure that is to be created in Primorye on the Russkiy Island by the APEC Summit in 2012. Victor ISHAEV, the RF President Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District made such statement. The Far East residents will have a chance to go on holiday and undergo a course of sanatorium-and-spa treatment there; RIA Novosti (News) reports.

“As for the Russkiy Island development after the APEC Summit in 2012, we should build the health resorts and recreation centers here so that the Far East residents can go on holiday and undergo a course of sanatorium-and-spa treatment,” Victor ISHAEV says.

He noted that currently the Vladivostok Airport is being under the reconstruction that is to be completed by the APEC Summit; it will become the up-to-date traffic center with high capacity. The structures of the Far Eastern Federal University buildings have already been erected on the Russkiy Island and the finishing work is to start in this October. The laying of press center and conference center building is going to start.

In addition, the city water pipeline and sewerage system are being modernized.

According to the Plenipotentiary, over 150 planning and contracting organizations are involved in the APEC Summit projects building currently; it amounts to over 12 thousand people.

“Over 4 thousand employees are working on the Russkiy Island and in the summer the number of employees will increase to 10 thousand people. So it is necessary to create the well-developed infrastructure including a fire station, a police department, an outpatient’s clinic and shops,” the Plenipotentiary says.
