The Minister of natural resources is ready to leave for Vladivostok to examine the course of works

VLADIVOSTOK, March 20, vladivostoktimes.com Vladimir PUTIN ordered to provide ecological control of the course of construction works on Russkiy Island, where the APEC Summit will be held in 2012. It was announced before during the work meeting of the PrimeMinister with vice-Chairman of the Government Dmitri KOZAK and the Minister of natural resources Yuri TRUTNEV.

“Now what is for APEC. There is unique nature on Russkiy Island too. To tell the truth military organizations and organizations of the Ministry of Defense have been situated there for decades. It is necessary to say that in the past ecological problems were not paid enough attention to, especially since this territory was completely closed,” the Chairman of the RF Government said.

“Today we have an opportunity to conduct works there in absolutely civilized way. What does your department do to control works beginning there?” Vladimir PUTIN asked Yuri TRUTNEV.

According to TRUTNEV, the law foresees conducting the state ecological expert examination of works and fulfillment of ecological control: “All these works are held. We have no alarm signals on APEC from territorial authorities. But if you allow, I’ll depart there and make sure that everything is all right.”

“It is necessary to see the place and all plans of construction works confirmed,” the RF Prime Minister said.
