500 million Rubles was funded from the Federal budget
VLADIVOSTOK, January 12, vladivostoktimes.com The amount of additional financing that was allotted for the erection of the bridge across the Golden Horn Bay in Vladivostok is 500 million Rubles. The funds are allocated in the framework of the Program "Development of Vladivostok as the Center of International Cooperation in Asia-Pacific Region," the press service of the Primorsky Territory Administration informs.
In 2008 the total of 3.2 billion Rubles was funded from the Federal budget and 402 million Rubles from the Territory budget.
Sergey DARKIN, the Primorsky Territory Governor, appreciated deeply the work of bridge builders they fulfilled last year. The bridge first stage – motor tunnel - was completed; it is the passage to the bridge from the funicular top.
According to the project plan, the tunnel is to be built in 22 months but the builders fulfilled 80% of work in 5 months. The work continued during nights, weekends, and holidays in three shifts. Thanks to the hard and well co-ordinated work of the building and assembling crews, drivers, engineers it has become possible to restart the road traffic ahead of a schedule.
The erection of pier #9 that is located in the Pervomaiskiy Ship-repair Yard area has fulfilled 60% and pier #8 – 30%. They are to be the pier-twins 226 meters high each.
The erection of the bridge is to be completed by 2012. It will link the south and north parts of the city together. The bridge length is over two kilometers from Funicular to Detskiy Park bus stop in Churkin district; its height above the sea level is 60 meters.
