South Korean companies can take part in construction of APEC 2012 Summit objects
VLADIVOSTOK, December 3, vladivostoktimes.com South Korean companies can take part in construction of APEC-2012 Summit objects. This fact was spoken about during the official visit of Rosstroy Far Eastern Administration delegation led by General Director Aleksandr DYATCHIN to Korea, “Vladivostok” newspaper reports.
Rosstroy Far Eastern Administration examined the objects built by South Korean companies for APEC-2005 Summit that took place in Busan. Today these objects work on regular basis as exhibition halls. The guests looked at the city’s sea front (Vladivostok is to improve its sea front within the next three years), met the sea administration and the Head of Busan municipality. The most important meetings took place in Seoul, where the Russian guests were received by Deputy Minister of Trade and Investment Policy KWAN Tae Kyun, one of the initiators of this visit, and CHO Hwang Ik, the Head of KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency). Korean International Contractors Association presented over twenty Korean large building companies ready to build APEC Summit objects in Vladivostok.
“We examined “Korean” University objects: university buildings, libraries, and dormitories for international students,” Deputy Head of Rosstroy Far Eastern Administration Aleksandr VOROBYOV said. “We are to build Far Eastern Federal University objects on Russkiy Island, and we will take the experience of Korean University construction into consideration.”
Apart from Seoul and Busan, Rosstroy Far Eastern Administration also visited Incheon to see a cable-braced bridge. The bridge is 21 km (13 miles) long, and its cable-stayed structure is identical to that of the bridge which is to be built over the Golden Horn Bay. As the delegation members noted, cooperation with Korean business is the basis of successful APEC-2012 objects construction and the pledge of effective future economic cooperation between Russia and APEC member countries. This was a return visit: a month ago on KOTRA’s initiative Korean Ministry of Education and Economic representatives met with Rosstroy Far Eastern Administration.
