The Project of APEC Summit Objects’ Placement to be Presented to Vladimir Putin

Project design people intend to build one more bridge to the Russkiy Island in future

VLADIVOSTOK, October 6, vladivostoktimes.com The layout project of the Russkiy Island, the hosting place of APEC Summit in 2012, is expected to be presented to Vladimir PUTIN, the Head of the RF Government, “Russian Newspaper in Primorye” informs. The project was already presented in the Vladivostok City Administration to the City Duma Deputies and general contractors by the consortium of project design people headed by the OJSC “Giprogor.” They presented the maps and schemes of site development and told about the priority of objects’ building: the roads, civil engineering infrastructure, and oceanarium are to be built at first, then – the University campus and other objects. It may be interesting for you to know that in future, when the Island development is in progress, the project design people intend to build one more bridge that is to connect the Sapernyi Peninsula with the opposite coast of the Russkiy Island. The designers answered the deputies and contractors’ questions then the conciliation commission started working on differences eliminating that the project can be presented to Vladimir Putin. As the “RN” newspaper was informed by Nikolai ASHLAPOV, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, next week the project is to be approved. The project design people heard some criticism of the project: there is a lack of coordination in distributing the load on the generating capacities, the site for the hard domestic wastes landfill is not appropriate enough (the Mayor proposed not to locate the landfill within the Island but to collect refuse and remove it to the Continent). The scientists of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Science applied to locate three institutes whose major subject is marine research closer to the seashore. Besides, “Giprogor” failed to flag a temporary site for construction rubble on the Island map and the builders applied to do it. The Nature Conservation Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded the governmental deforest license otherwise the building may face the problems. “We have two expert reports, environmental impact assessment and the assessment of the Main State Commission of Experts, but there is some mismatch here. This is not a killing problem. We are to make an independent project appraisal and decide which way of erecting of the offshore bridge footing to choose. And wee did not stop the building of the bridge to the Russkiy Island,” Nikolai ASHLAPOV, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, told.
