Vladivostok is an important scientific center in the Russian Far East. Its scientists are engaged in various types of research in abstract and applied sciences. Arseniev Regional Museum offers numerous ethnographic, geologic and historical exhibitions together with flora and fauna collections. Visitors especially enjoy the exhibitions featuring the life and customs of the native peoples who used to inhabit the region and the first settlers.
